Rosita Lucas, Trustee
Rosita is honored to join the Board of Trustees as the parent of a Berkwood Hedge School 7th grader. Rosita graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in History and from University of Wisconsin, Madison with a Masters in Latin American, Caribbean and Iberian Studies. She is credentialed as a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE). Her career in fundraising and development has spanned over 20 years, primarily supporting equity in higher education. Currently, she works with philanthropy to usher in regenerative practices for racial and social justice.
Rosita has called the Bay Area home since the mid-80's. Her ancestral roots are in the Great Migration, as well as West Indian and Central American cultures, so she loves R&B, roots reggae, and salsa and merengue, too! Just prior to the onset of the pandemic, Rosita and her family embarked on a backpacking trip around the world traveling to 14 countries in Africa, Asia, and Europe, as well as 7 U.S. states. Along the way, her family "world schooled" and discovered the many joys of hands-on learning. Rosita is excited to bring a spirit of teamwork and co-creation to her role as a Trustee in service of Berkwood Hedge School.
