Christian Mehalic talks about some of the highlights of second grade at Berkwood Hedge School.

Hi, my name is Christian Mehalic, and I am the second grade EARTH teacher at Berkwood Hedge School. Some of the projects that we work on throughout the year include and start with "Change" and the Then and Now Project, which has our theme throughout the year --how we change, how our society has changed from the past into the present, how it will continue to change in the future. From there we roll into our Science and Space Project where we talked about and work on moon phases-- tracking the moon, visiting the Space Center and continuing on to find out how those things affect the change of our planet. Moving from there we get into our Bridge lesson. Bridge lessons, constructions and development, learning about how they connect different parts of the world and how they are big and important-- big and important pieces for keeping our society connected those are just a few of the things that we dabble in here in second grade.
