Tuition and Fees

TUITION

Tuition is $29,800 (Lower School) and $35,600 (Middle School) for the 2023-2024 academic school year.

Included in our tuition are school supplies and stationary, most field trips, and free childcare for evening events. We offer a 5% Sibling Discount.

EXTENDED DAY CARE

Available daily from 8:00am to 6:00pm. The fee for our Before School Program (BSP) or After School Program (ASP) is $12.50 per hour. Holiday care is $95.00 per day.

WORK COMMITMENT

The Tuition Agreement includes a commitment from each family to work 20 hours for the school each year, of which 5 must be devoted to school-wide development activities - activities related to fundraising, admissions, alumni, friends and family and community relations and outreach. The commitment for single parent families is 10 hours per year, 2.5 of which must be toward school-wide development activities.

This commitment is a way to both keep tuition affordable and involve parents in the life of the school as volunteers in the classroom, on field trips, in maintaining our facility, in the office, and in fundraising activities. At the end of the school year, uncompleted hours are billed at $30.00 per hour.

TUITION ASSISTANCE

Through our generous Tuition Assistance program, we actively seek to make our school affordable and accessible to as many families as possible.  We allocate 25% of our gross income to our need-based Tuition Assistance program which serves nearly 50% of Berkwood Hedge School families.

We consider applications for tuition assistance independently of the admission process and awards are need-based.  We ask every family to contribute a minimum of 25% of tuition over the course of 10 months. Our tuition includes school supplies and stationary, most field trips, and free childcare for evening events.

Our Tuition Assistance Committee confidentially reviews applications for assistance. The committee strives to consider each applicant family's unique situation.  While families are required to re-apply for tuition assistance each year, provided there is no tremendous growth in income, families who are part of our tuition assistance program are assessed for their 9 year trajectory at Berkwood Hedge School.
