Supporting Our School
Our K-8 learning community fosters academic excellence, critical thinking, community, social justice and civic engagement. Your donations help to ensure that Berkwood Hedge School has the resources necessary to sustain and deepen our school’s educational program, and to strengthen our capacity to live our mission for years to come.
We welcome all levels of giving, and every gift directly supports our rich educational program, teachers, students, and all the families who are a vital part of our vibrant community. Our Advancement Office continually seeks new ways for our school community, as well as the wider Berkwood Hedge School village, to come together and support our school and its mission. We also partner with individual donors for major gifts. Philanthropy at Berkwood Hedge School takes many forms, and we thank you for your generosity!

The Annual Fund
The Annual Fund is the cornerstone of our fundraising efforts and supports the day-to-day operations of the school. Funds raised as part of the Annual Fund are what allow the school to keep tuition as low as possible and offer generous Tuition Assistance. Because contributions to the Annual Fund go directly towards the school's operating budget, it also what allows the school to attract and retain our exceptional teachers, fund specialist programs, and cover the cost of buildings and facilities maintenance. Our school relies on the generosity of current families, trustees, alumni, employees, grandparents, and friends of the school in contributing to our Annual Fund each year.

Staff Appreciation Fund
Our staff are creative, resourceful, passionate, and inspired, and our students and families are generous in how they show their appreciation for the efforts of our teachers and staff members. For ease and equity, we have implemented a system for collecting monetary contributions that are used for things like a yearly staff holiday party and holiday gifts, special lunches, and end-of-year gifts for staff. Funds collected are divided among the staff in the form of appreciation events and gifts. To contribute, please contact our Director of Admissions and Advancement, Kemmeo DaSilva at [email protected]. Non-monetary gifts can always be gifted directly to staff and are greatly appreciated.

80th Anniversary Gala: Seeding Possibilities
This annual event is organized by the Advancement Committee, with funds raised contributing to both the school’s operation budget and Fund a Need campaigns directly related to our students or school. The school community comes together to make this a fun and festive night out, with parents, caregivers, and alumni contributing their time and talents. A silent auction, filled with wonderful offerings from within our community and local businesses, provides a unique and exciting opportunity to support the school and ensure our 80th Anniversary Gala is a success.
