EVENTS FOR THE COMMUNITY

Many events at Berkwood Hedge are open to the public and are also part the strong tradition of building community, including the annual food drives for the Alameda Food Bank, Bike to School and Work events, and fundraiser breakfasts.

A collaboration between Berkwood Hedge and the Bay Area Writing Project - BAWP - will promote literacy in Berkeley's public elementary schools through the art of storytelling. Berkwood Hedge is sponsoring two training workshops to help public school teachers implement storytelling in their classrooms. Teachers and students will also experience professional storytellers in action at our annual "Telling Tales: A Fall Storytelling Festival at Berkwood Hedge School".
