Sara was born and raised in the Chicagoland area. She attended Loras College (Iowa), where she graduated with a degree in sociology, and played NCAA Volleyball for 4 years. After college, she received a graduate degree from DePaul University in Chicago, then began teaching Grade 8 Social Studies in Lake Bluff, IL. Since then, Sara has taught Grade 5 at the United Nations International School in NYC, Grade 4 at Hubbard Woods Elementary School in Winnetka, IL, and Grades 5,7 and 8 in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Most recently, Sara taught Grade 4 at Stamford American International School in Singapore. Sara is experienced in and motivated by developing project-based challenges for her students. Sara is an avid traveler, having visited over 30 countries on 6 continents. She and her husband, Michael, have three children: River, Matilda, and Gretel.
