Chris Deegan, Trustee

Chris is a Midwest native who followed a circuitous route to the Bay Area over 20 years ago.  He lives in Berkeley with his wife Ginny and son August, a proud Berkwood Hedge student. He is honored to serve on the Board and contribute in another way to the magic that is the Berkwood Hedge School and community.

Chris is a lifelong traveler and student. He has lived in many places and worked many jobs. Most consistently, he has worked in the food and wine industry for nearly 25 years and is currently a partner in Sacred Thirst Selections, a wine and spirits import and distribution company based in the Bay Area.

He and his family love spending time outside – camping, hiking, climbing, biking, fishing, skiing, swinging in a hammock strung between two beautiful trees – anything outside will do. They also love reading, traveling, cooking, entertaining, playing games, and learning new things. (All of which can also be done al fresco…)
