Music Teacher/Design & Innovation Catalyst

A New England native, Dianne lived and taught in the midwest, the Rockies, and the north east, before landing here in the Bay Area.  Dianne earned her BA in music from Oberlin College, and then spent time in the worlds of musical theater production and filmmaking before a love of working with students from skiing to conducting the local town band inspired her to return to Oberlin and earn her MEd. Dianne began her classroom teaching experience as a kindergarten teacher in Boston, MA, and was then able to combine her love of teaching and music as the founding music teacher for a K-8 charter school. She was drawn to the Bay Area by friends and family, and the opportunity to help build the Khan Lab School as the music and wellness teacher. Currently Dianne is also the day camp director for Project Ember, where campers learn how to collaboratively build giant interactive art projects using power tools. She is particularly fond of adventuring and the darkest of dark chocolates.
