Susanna joined the Berkwood Hedge community in 2018 as mother of Isabel, class of 2024. The Coffin Dunlap family are so happy to have become part of this school devoted to child-centered growth, experiential learning, a diverse student body, and a thriving and connected community.
Susanna received degrees in human development, psychology and occupational therapy, with the alma maters UCSC, UCD, and SJSU.
She serves adolescents and young adults as a psychiatric occupational therapist, is a clinical instructor for graduate programs, and also teaches yoga.
She brings to the group more than 20 years experience and continuing education in mental health: from family camps recreation to therapeutic group work, consulting, mindfulness, mental health program development, trauma sensitive care, positive psychology, yoga, and life skills coaching, in both the US and Germany.
Heeding Isabel’s advice about serving on the board: “...it's important to be thoughtful, playful, and kind”, Susanna is honored to show up, joining other caring and creative collaborators to serve this very special school community as board trustee.
Susanna revels in singing and playing the piano, paddle boarding, gardening, crafts, yoga, and the outdoors.
