Love Weinstock
Head of School
Love Weinstock is an experienced leader, educator, and coach who has spent more than 25 years creating environments where people thrive through learning, growth, and connection. Now in her 14th year as Head of School at Berkwood Hedge School, she brings a deep understanding of what it takes to lead with vision, presence, and resilience. Love’s leadership journey spans preschool through adult learners, always with an emphasis on social emotional learning and justice, civic engagement, and community building.
She has held founding leadership roles at multiple Bay Area schools, including Making Waves Academy and the East Bay School for Boys, and directed nationally recognized service learning and public purpose programs at St. Paul’s Episcopal School in Oakland. She was also the founding director of Aim High Oakland, an academic enrichment program for public middle school students. In addition to her school leadership, Love has served as a consultant to independent schools across the country, supporting diversity initiatives, service learning, curriculum development, and parent, instructional and leadership coaching. Love holds a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership and a California State Administrative Services Credential from Mills College, as well as a Certificate in School Management and Leadership from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She is also a certified coach and mediator, with formal training in multiple disciplines including English, math, and science instruction. As a coach, Love integrates her wealth of leadership experience with a focus on embodied presence, wellness, and purpose. She believes leadership is as much about who we are as it is about what we do. Her coaching invites clients to deepen self-awareness, build confidence, engage in difficult conversations, and sustain themselves as whole people while leading others.
Beyond her professional life, Love is a coach, an avid reader, gardener, and jewelry designer, with a strong background in outdoor and environmental education and the arts. She treasures time outdoors and with her family, finding joy and grounding in both.
