Brenda Quinn
Director of Auxiliary Programs
Brenda was born and raised in the South Bay Area and earned her B.A. in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing from UC Davis. She began her career in Sacramento with 916 Ink, where she facilitated creative writing workshops and published youth anthologies. She then served as Program Director and Lead Guide at Acton Academy schools in Texas and California, where she designed interdisciplinary, project-based Quests, led Socratic discussions, and coached students in building portfolios around real-world challenges. What resonated most with her about Acton’s learner-driven model was seeing children take ownership of their learning journeys—setting goals, making choices, and discovering their voices in authentic ways.
Brenda believes schools should be spaces where children feel safe to take risks, express themselves, and discover their purpose. A certified Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) facilitator and yoga teacher, she weaves emotional literacy, identity work, and trauma-informed practices into everything she builds. At Berkwood Hedge School, she brings a collaborative spirit and a deep commitment to helping young people grow into confident, compassionate changemakers.
Outside of school, Brenda is a new mom to a spunky toddler and enjoys weekend adventures with her daughter and their two German Shepherds.
